Motortbike at San Vigilio di Marebbe

Because of its vicinity to the Dolomitic mountain passes San Vigilio is a strategic starting point for lots of motor bike tours. From San Vigilio it is possible to tour the grand Dolomitic round trips and to reach Venice easily by taking the road through Cortina d’Ampezzo, the high street through Brunico and Bressanone, or by choosing an alternative route on less trafficated side roads.

Don't miss this tour:

From San Vigilio di Marebbe through the Passo Furcia/Furkelpass (1737 m) as far as Valdaora/Olang and then along the SS49 of the Val Pusteria as far as San Candido/Innichen where you turn right into the SS52 towards the Sesto Valley. As you pass the Passo Monte Croce Comelico (1638 m) and enter the Comelico Valley, continue as far as Padola where you can still admire many buildings in country style typical of the area. Now continue along the SS532 as far as Passo Sant'Antonio, in direction Dosoledo and San Nicolò. From here go on as far as Santa Caterina along a road rich in hairpin bends and then turn right to Auronzo di Cadore, along the SS48.
As you get to Strabiziano, few km far from Auronzo, the second part of the itinerary starts. From here, through the Passo Tre Croci/Dreikreuzpass (1809 m) you will get to Cortina, where the winter Olympic games took place in 1956, and where it is worth a stop to admire the wonderful Ampezzo valley. Again on the road, get to Falzarego Pass (2105 m) and turn right towards the Valparola Pass, from where you can enjoy a wonderful sight on the Sella, the Marmolada and the valley of Agordo.
From here continue along the Val Badia/Gadertal as far as Longega/Zwischenwasser and then back to San Vigilio di Marebbe.
